Maine Impression Photography started when I was just a girl. My dad is a photographer, and has always been honing his skills. I was in Oklahoma, Texas and Utah...so far from Maine. And still, it started. Then I met my Maine Man. He came out west, we met, married, then moved to the beautiful, bold and bounteous state of Maine. Cameras were still using film back in that day. However, as photography grew up into the digital age, so did my interest in taking picture, after picture. Six kids, and a hundred thousand photos later, and that brings us to Machiasport, Maine.
I've never been afraid of taking pictures with whatever I had at hand - phones, old cameras, point-and-shoot. And that's what I had when I moved there. My iPhone, and a point-and-shoot. It was a good camera - took really nice shots. The iPhone has come a long way, too! I was devastated when I accidentally dropped my camera down a cliff in Lubec. While the camera was recovered, it was nonetheless, shattered. And the memory card was missing.
I was depressed. I felt lost without a camera. The iPhone was fine. But the CAMERA! So, I did what every self-respectin' Yankee would do...I bought a DSLR before I had a full-blown come apart! That fixed things - real good! I was right! Things turned around, and now two hundred thousand pictures later, and I've decided to listen to my friends...they all tell me that I should display, and sell my photography. Now that I live in Ellsworth - it's a bit easier to do that.
I am particularly focused on anything Maine. The Downeast Coast, in particular, but nature at large will get my attention, any day. Wildlife, water, peaceful Maine villages. I'm still learning, growing, and loving every single shot. Today I spend as much time as I can traveling to, and waiting for, the most breathtaking scenery. I hope you can feel and smell the salty life I live through the pictures that I share.
I aim to make a lasting maineimpression
